Come to learn

Hands on Q and A days to learn about how our environment can exist with our food in a sacred space.

Hands-On Field Trips at B and B Farms Kuna

Students step into a working organic farm where they discover:
• How soil health shapes everything
• Why seeds matter
• How vineyards grow
• How harvest becomes shared meals

This is not a lecture. It’s participation in a living system.

We offer a “Farm Year Experience” where students can see all the steps throughout the season

  • Spring planting

  • Summer growth

  • Fall harvest

•Winter seed processing

Our goats, birds, and even insects are not just “farm animals” — they are working partners in a regenerative system.

Students observe how:

  • Goats help manage vegetation and cycle nutrients back into the soil

  • Birds contribute to pest control and ecological balance

  • Insects pollinate crops and break down organic matter

This section connects directly to food webs, biodiversity, and ecosystem interdependence.

Students can participate in a hands-on construction activity using reclaimed wood and salvaged materials from the farm.

Lessons include:

  • Habitat creation and native bird support

  • Waste reduction and material reuse

  • Basic tool safety and craftsmanship

Each bird box becomes a tangible symbol of stewardship — supporting the very species that support the farm.

Students explore the traditional Three Sisters system — corn, beans, and squash grown together in mutual support.

We explain:

  • How corn provides structure

  • How beans fix nitrogen into the soil

  • How squash shades the ground and suppresses weeds

This becomes a living example of companion planting, nutrient cycling, and cultural agricultural wisdom.

Not all bugs are pests.

Students learn to identify beneficial insects such as:

  • Lady beetles

  • Lacewings

  • Native pollinators

We discuss biological pest control, integrated pest management, and why a healthy farm invites biodiversity rather than eliminating it.
